.:VotLoT| Please Say Something

05/02/2010 at 8:41 AM (Life, Misc, News) (, , , , , )

I’m ignoring the fact that I haven’t updated in forever to bring you this VotLoT (Video of the Length of Time, because I don’t update it monthly like I should), a 10-minute short film titled “Please Say Something.” Under normal circumstances, I’d make a smart, witty remark describing it. However, this would be not only disrespectful to the sheer amazing this film is, but there are simply not enough words in any language to do it justice. Suffice it all to say it’s absolutely amazing, and it is worth 10 minutes of your time, even if you don’t understand a damn thing about it.

Winner of the Golden Bear for best short film at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival, and rightly deserved.

.:Oh, right, I have a blog.

01/01/2010 at 11:06 AM (Life, Misc, News) (, , , , )

Oh, hi, guys. It’s been a little while. Like, two months. Last post was at the beginning of November? Horrid.

So, it’s 2010, and that means it’s the start of a new year. Lots of things have changed, and lots of things have stayed the same. I made a lot of good friends this year, and with their help, I’ve pulled through really well, despite some crazy shit happening at the end of the year. Here’s hoping that this year is much better, for myself and for everyone else.

Alright, now that that mushy crap is out of the way… Read the rest of this entry »

.:Life News and Such

24/10/2009 at 11:12 AM (Life, Misc, News) (, , , , )

Hey, I suppose it’s about time for an update here! Especially since the last update was… what. Nearly three weeks ago.

I guess I’ll use every few posts to just give a general outlook on what’s going on and why I’m distracted from posting a lot. That’s what most of the blogs I visit do, and while I’m not out to make a carbon copy of them, it’s nice to have basic ideas about how I’m supposed to be doing this, especially with an update schedule that isn’t daily/every-other-daily.

More after the jump! No, I won’t force you to read about my recently not-as-boring-as-usual life! No, there aren’t pictures of the two clean spots in my horribly messy room! Read the rest of this entry »

Welp, so much for that plan.

I’m currently looking for a job… applied at a farmer’s market that’ll be opening soon in the nearby city, which would be great. I figure if I can work full-time at even just minimum wage for a few months, I’ll have living expenses for my pre-sought apartment covered and have a little extra left over to buy online crap with. I hope I get it… though, if not, I suppose I can just try for another place sometime.

Just finished Mario and Luigi 3… great game. My full review will be on We Rate Stuff soon, so check it out if you’re interested. I’m also working on reviews for PuchiPuchi Virus and Knights in the Nightmare, so keep a look out. I should probably start writing up reviews for the Touhou games as well, but since you can buy the disks as well as download it online, I’m not quite sure what the legality on that is, and I don’t want to get WRS in trouble. I suppose I’ll ask later.

In other life news, I’ve restarted work on my novel (Trilo, for those who didn’t know about it), with the help of my girlfriend Megan. It’s going rather slowly at the moment, but I’ve made a powerful revision to the first chapter, and so far, it’s going quite well, I’d like to think. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here, though chances are if I get the job I so desperately need, I’ll be taking another lengthy hiatus until I move again. Sigh. Just can’t catch a break, can I?

Has anyone else ever caught that feeling where it seems like no matter how hard you work, how much you try, it never adds up to what you need to be able to be happy? I think I’m in one of those slumps at the moment… I feel like everyone else is getting what I’m working towards, and every time I manage to make a huge breakthrough, it manages to backfire on me. All I can really do is keep at it until I succeed, of course, but… sometimes I wonder if that’s really all I can do. It feels like I should be doing more, but I really can’t think of anything else. I’ve got that feeling in my stomach I get when I’m homesick, even though I’m lying here on my bed. I wonder what that means…

…I wish I could just leave, because this feeling isn’t too great.

What, you didn’t think I’d forget, did you? Have a happy Cirnocalypse.

.:Gravatar, Future Plans, and Fanboyism

04/07/2009 at 3:55 PM (Life, Misc) (, , , , , )

So I’m just now learning about everything WordPress really has to offer. I knew it was a blog and all, but I didn’t take the time to really sit down and look at everything… there’s a lot of data that goes on behind the scenes that I didn’t pay attention to when I first started posting, but when I can find out just how people are finding my blog? Okay, that’s pretty awesome. So I now have a Gravatar (that little box thing that shows up when you comment), one that isn’t automatically generated. Cool. I’ll probably update it with something more fitting later.

I’m hoping I can find a job soon… saving money is a must from mow til late October, early November at the latest. I graduate August 19th, so hopefully I’ll have about half of what I want to save up… uh… saved up by then. I want to be settled in Georgia before December… that way, I can start working on getting enough money for my M license and Vespa, and then start off the next year heading for community colleges. I think that’s the advantage to having a birthday in the summer– you fool everyone into thinking you’re younger than you really are. I’ll be 18 when I start in a community college, but in reality, it’ll seem like I’m 19 or so.

Wait… that means I’ll seem older. -Sob.-

Fanboyism after the jump. Oh, and Happy Independence Day! In America! Try not to blow off your hands or your nose or your big toe or anything else when you’re playing with fireworks. Read the rest of this entry »

No, I didn’t forget to update several times! What are you talking about, fool?! You must be a youkai! I’ll kill you!!

Anyway, as soon as I get a scanner, I promise, I’ll have some interesting things here, mainly in the form of my (almost) daily 4koma comic, FurryFriday. It features me and my friends and everyday conversations, as well as life happenings and random crazy thoughts that happen in my head. Also, Touhou! Everyone loves Touhou!

Speaking of Touhou, I’ve been referring all of my friends to it… I’ve gotten at least 5 obsessed, or at least interested, which is good; It’s always epic when an obscure title gets more recognition. Also, Pit got me thinking about making a Touhou-themed Pokemon team (no, not Touhoumon, yes, I know that exists). Here are some ideas (that I’m sure have been done):

Orin/Chen the Delcatty(Persian?)

Cirno the Magikarp

Mokou the Moltres

SHA-MEI-MA-RU (Aya) the Honchkrow?

Kaguya the Dragonite

Eirin the Chansey (Because the sentence “Eirin used Softboiled!” is hilarious)

Reisen (Tewi?) the Lopunny

China (Meirin) the Lucario

Marisa the Anything with Hyper Beam

Patchouli the Noctowl

And those are all I’ve got so far. Anyway, I guess that’s all for now. See you next week sometime. Whoo, TAKS and me already passing it so I don’t have to show up at school!

So, how’s everyone’s Spring Break going? Chances are, if you’re still alive and/or sober enough to be here and coherently reading this post, you’re doing well. Me, I’m pretty okay, I suppose.

I took my SAT last Saturday (the 14th)… I don’t think I did horribly, but just in case, I’m not going to jinx it. I know I didn’t get anywhere near the PA score (for those not huge rhythmfags, PA means “Perfect Attack,” meaning essentially a perfect score). After that, later that day, Me, Pit, Wes, and Dean all went to the Stars game with Platinum tickets. Needless to say, those who went for the first time (essentially everyone but me and Wes, though it was Wes’ first time in the AAC) was impressed, so I think I won a few brownie points there. Awesome.

More after the jump, but not too much more. I’m feeling kind of blah. Read the rest of this entry »

So, there were apparently 10 views today… ⑨, plus the one I made by accident seeing if it would work here at school. Looks like it’s actually getting some traffic, which is kind of exciting. I hope it’ll get more once I actually start doing stuff here, like pictures and crap. But for all of that to happen, I first require a digital camera. Hopefully, I can get one of those soon.

In other news, I am extremely terrified of Chinese people. That and my thoughts on more world news after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
