Just something cool I was shown by DoctorNK. It’s a neat little clock that shows 5 seconds worth of a random toohoo antic, then 5 seconds of the time in military format, and then another video. I got a kick out of it, and on the actual site (reach it by clicking the clock), you even get some pretty bitchin’ remixes of Touhou music with your clocking needs. There are bleeps and bloops to count the seconds in most songs.

I’d originally planned to embed it, but WordPress isn’t going to have ANY OF THAT, OH NO.

I’m ignoring the fact that I haven’t updated in forever to bring you this VotLoT (Video of the Length of Time, because I don’t update it monthly like I should), a 10-minute short film titled “Please Say Something.” Under normal circumstances, I’d make a smart, witty remark describing it. However, this would be not only disrespectful to the sheer amazing this film is, but there are simply not enough words in any language to do it justice. Suffice it all to say it’s absolutely amazing, and it is worth 10 minutes of your time, even if you don’t understand a damn thing about it.

Winner of the Golden Bear for best short film at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival, and rightly deserved.

Oh, hi, guys. It’s been a little while. Like, two months. Last post was at the beginning of November? Horrid.

So, it’s 2010, and that means it’s the start of a new year. Lots of things have changed, and lots of things have stayed the same. I made a lot of good friends this year, and with their help, I’ve pulled through really well, despite some crazy shit happening at the end of the year. Here’s hoping that this year is much better, for myself and for everyone else.

Alright, now that that mushy crap is out of the way…

Life has been pretty okay thus far! I’ve had a blast working at Gamestop, though the holiday hours were extremely draining and not expressly pleasant. Christmas came and went without lots of hoo-rah, though in the sweetloots, I did manage to score myself a tablet and a not-terribad camera, as well as a really, really shitty new phone that I needed since I didn’t have one. Awesome. I’d take pictures, but being the brilliant dude that I am, left the camera as well as my secondary camera (the DSi, naturally) at home, and Shitty McBadphone my new phone doesn’t have a camera and couldn’t take a picture of itself even if it did. Sigh.

Other than that, nothing really major has happened… It’s kind of funny. I read a bunch of different blogs and have friends who seemingly never run out of interesting things to talk about, like Amber [A Fork in the Socket, a blog much more deserving of your attention than my own]. I look at blogs like that and go “Man, I wish I had interesting, not too personal hilarious stories to tell like that” and then try it only to end up with a rambly post like this one. Oh, well. Maybe that can be my New Years’ Resolution: do more crazy shit and tell the Internet all about it.

An arranged version of A Tiny, Tiny Clever Commander, Nazrin’s theme from Touhou 12. It reminds me of Professor Layton, actually…

Floating Darkness ~ Heian Alien Vocal Arrangement

A rather well-done vocal version of Heian Alien, Nue’s theme from Touhou 12. The original of this song was dangerous and driving enough, and this adds some pretty sick vocals to it.

Moving away from Touhou, I found this looking around Youtube. It’s got a nice rhythm and a smooth, lyrical melody to it. Very calming.

Total Science – S.O.S.

These guys (Total Science) have been making DnB for over a decade. Kudos if you’ve heard them before. Not much else to say about this one…

Dan Bull – Doorways

A relatively new artist, he took a pretty well-known telepop song… and rapped to it. Did I mention he’s a Brit? Yeah. Anyway, it’s a pretty cool song about birth and death, executed smoothly.

Hey, I suppose it’s about time for an update here! Especially since the last update was… what. Nearly three weeks ago.

I guess I’ll use every few posts to just give a general outlook on what’s going on and why I’m distracted from posting a lot. That’s what most of the blogs I visit do, and while I’m not out to make a carbon copy of them, it’s nice to have basic ideas about how I’m supposed to be doing this, especially with an update schedule that isn’t daily/every-other-daily.

More after the jump! No, I won’t force you to read about my recently not-as-boring-as-usual life! No, there aren’t pictures of the two clean spots in my horribly messy room!

I recently applied for and got a job at Gamestop! After weeks of looking for an actual meaningful job (read: applying at convenience stores), I landed the one job that I thought I’d never have a chance at. I also got my State ID, so that I can legally work for said stopping point of the gaming variety. This comes with obvious benefits.

The two special-edition Dissidia: Final Fantasy boxes and a relatively happy A Boy and his Blob stress ball atop my TV.

And then there's this little... um... thing, from Squeeballs: Party for the Wii.

As much as I knew about the ‘freebie’ stuff they got, it’s pretty awesome to have first access to it, even if it means getting things from games I don’t and probably won’t ever own. If you live in the area I primarily inhabitate, feel free to swing by when I’m in and visit. Also, buy Edge Cards!

In other news, I may be starting college this coming spring semester, if I can get everything together by then. I’m the tiniest bit leery about this, since I didn’t want to go to school here at first, but since I really don’t have another option, it’s looking like I’m going to have to bite the bullet. Oh well. I’ll at least get crap out of the way, I guess.

In closing, the “smooooch・∀・” song has been stuck in my head for weeks now. I may need to just go find an MP3 and be done with it.

Okay, since you’re reading this, it means you don’t know what makes the video above so incredibly awesome. Long ago, in a distant land, a brilliant shonen (geared towards boys) manga was released. This manga was called “Hokuto no Ken,” literally translated as “Fist of the Big Dipper,” or, as it came to be known in America and the world over, “Fist of the North Star.” The main character, Kenshiro, is famous for his special finishing move, the “Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken,” or the “Hundred Crack Fist.” This video will show the inspiration for the video above.

Welp, so much for that plan.

I’m currently looking for a job… applied at a farmer’s market that’ll be opening soon in the nearby city, which would be great. I figure if I can work full-time at even just minimum wage for a few months, I’ll have living expenses for my pre-sought apartment covered and have a little extra left over to buy online crap with. I hope I get it… though, if not, I suppose I can just try for another place sometime.

Just finished Mario and Luigi 3… great game. My full review will be on We Rate Stuff soon, so check it out if you’re interested. I’m also working on reviews for PuchiPuchi Virus and Knights in the Nightmare, so keep a look out. I should probably start writing up reviews for the Touhou games as well, but since you can buy the disks as well as download it online, I’m not quite sure what the legality on that is, and I don’t want to get WRS in trouble. I suppose I’ll ask later.

In other life news, I’ve restarted work on my novel (Trilo, for those who didn’t know about it), with the help of my girlfriend Megan. It’s going rather slowly at the moment, but I’ve made a powerful revision to the first chapter, and so far, it’s going quite well, I’d like to think. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here, though chances are if I get the job I so desperately need, I’ll be taking another lengthy hiatus until I move again. Sigh. Just can’t catch a break, can I?

Has anyone else ever caught that feeling where it seems like no matter how hard you work, how much you try, it never adds up to what you need to be able to be happy? I think I’m in one of those slumps at the moment… I feel like everyone else is getting what I’m working towards, and every time I manage to make a huge breakthrough, it manages to backfire on me. All I can really do is keep at it until I succeed, of course, but… sometimes I wonder if that’s really all I can do. It feels like I should be doing more, but I really can’t think of anything else. I’ve got that feeling in my stomach I get when I’m homesick, even though I’m lying here on my bed. I wonder what that means…

…I wish I could just leave, because this feeling isn’t too great.

This is Fable.

No, I’m not talking that newfangled crap you see on Xbox and Xbox360. This is old-school, as made by Simbiosis Interactive back in 1996. It’s a classic point-and-click type of adventure game. And it’s hilarious.

Everything you hear in this video is real game audio. It has not been edited, save for just throwing random clips in order from the start of the game to the end. Spoilers abound, if you plan on tracking it down and actually playing it.
